One of Blackmere’s innovative, high-growth clients is on the hunt for a Vice President of Engineering to lead a brand-new, business-critical initiative: Global Registration & Licenses (GRL). This isn’t just about forms or checkboxes — it’s about giving global businesses the power to launch faster, operate anywhere, and scale with confidence by eliminating regulatory friction.

Every week, millions of new businesses are launched around the world — and every one of them has to navigate an avalanche of licensing and registration hurdles to operate legally. From payroll setup in Texas to VAT registration in Germany, every jurisdiction adds complexity. This leader will guide the engineering organization that’s building the platform to solve that.

You'll lead the charge on a next-gen, AI-powered platform built for flexibility, velocity, and scale. This is a VP-level role reporting to the SVP of Engineering, with influence that spans product, strategy, and executive leadership.

Your Mission

Architect the Future of Compliance

  • Own the design of a dynamic, multi-tenant platform capable of adapting to any jurisdiction — no hardcoding required.
  • Embed AI and NLP orchestration to automate the interpretation of complex rules and regulations.
  • Create seamless integration with both internal tools and external APIs — including legacy government systems.

Build and Inspire a High-Performance Team

  • Drive a culture rooted in ownership, velocity, and excellence — across time zones and backgrounds.
  • Mentor and grow senior engineering leaders and ICs alike.
  • Bring empathy, clarity, and purpose to distributed team leadership.

Drive Platform Evolution and Operational Excellence

  • Partner across Product, Ops, Design, and Data Science to accelerate delivery.
  • Leverage metrics to improve performance, throughput, and system resilience.
  • Advance DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and scalable infrastructure.

What You Bring

  • 15+ years of engineering leadership, with at least 5 years at the VP level or higher.
  • Proven success leading cloud-native SaaS platforms in complex, regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of metadata-driven architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Comfort with API integrations — especially when dealing with legacy or government systems.
  • Track record of building global, high-performing engineering organizations.
  • Fluency in AI and automation technologies in live production environments.
