Vice President, Engineering – Marketing Technology

Remote (U.S. preferred) | Reports to: Chief Information Officer


Are you an engineering executive energized by executive-level impact, cross-functional ownership, and platform transformation at scale? One of Blackmere’s clients is seeking a seasoned leader to head up their global Marketing Technology and Web Engineering organization. This newly created VP-level role reports directly to the CIO and offers high visibility across the C-suite and Board.

What You’ll Be Driving

This leader will oversee a ~50-person global team across:

  • Web Engineering (Adobe AEM, DevOps, QA, TPM)
  • Marketing Automation (Marketo, Drift, Salesforce integrations)
  • Lead Lifecycle Systems (routing, scoring, enrichment)
  • Technical Program Management
  • AI Integration across development and marketing operations


This team plays a central role in the client’s revenue engine—supporting website performance, lead conversion, attribution, and SDR enablement. Your responsibility? Define and execute a technology roadmap that scales the platform, improves funnel efficiency, and tightens the integration between Marketing, Sales, and RevOps.


Strategic Priorities

  • Unify and simplify a fragmented, 20-year-old lead funnel stack
  • Lead a migration from Eloqua to Marketo
  • Increase sprint velocity and output in Web Engineering
  • Introduce AI tooling across SDLC and marketing operations
  • Partner with the CMO and GTM leaders to drive measurable pipeline outcomes
  • Strengthen team structure and leadership across U.S. and India


What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • Lead routing accuracy and conversion rates measurably improved
  • Manual processes reduced and system reliability enhanced
  • Sprint goals consistently met by web engineering
  • AI embedded in both development and business-facing tools
  • Platform simplification roadmap created and in progress


Who You Are

You’re an engineering leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to translate vision into execution. You likely bring:

  • 15+ years in technical leadership with experience managing global teams
  • A background in SaaS or digital-first B2B companies
  • Experience with Adobe AEM, Marketo, Salesforce integrations
  • Strong systems thinker with the ability to rationalize legacy platforms and unify complex martech stacks
  • AI fluency with a strong point of view on integration across dev and GTM systems
  • Comfort operating with visibility at the CEO and Board level
  • A collaborative mindset and proven ability to align IT, Marketing, and Revenue Operations


Bonus Points For

  • Leading both martech and web engineering organizations
  • Deep understanding of lead scoring, enrichment, and feedback loops
  • Familiarity with CDPs and personalization engines
  • Experience with digital rebrands or transformation efforts
  • Background in PE-backed or high-growth environments

  • SVP of GTM Systems and Analytics
  • VP of Business Applications
  • Global Engineering and TPM leaders


You’ll also have the full support of the Executive Leadership Team in building a high-performing, AI-enabled organization that delivers real, measurable results.
