Director, HR Technology & Transformation

(Workday Expertise Required – Remote, U.S.)

If you're passionate about transforming HR through technology and thrive at the intersection of strategy, systems, and scalability — this is your next big move.

One of Blackmere's clients, a high-growth global technology organization, is looking for a Director of HR Technology & Transformation to take the lead on their evolving People Technology ecosystem. This highly visible role sits at the heart of enterprise-wide digital transformation and has the opportunity to reshape how work happens across a global workforce.

In this role, you'll be entrusted with driving the roadmap and optimization of core HR platforms — particularly Workday, including Recruiting and/or Payroll — while leading a high-performing team to scale tools, processes, and data across the employee lifecycle. You’ll serve as a strategic advisor to executive stakeholders in HR, IT, and across the business, helping to shape a forward-thinking digital employee experience grounded in usability, compliance, and operational excellence.

This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates located within the United States.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the strategy, implementation, and evolution of enterprise-wide People Technology platforms, with a heavy emphasis on Workday (especially Recruiting and/or Payroll).
  • Collaborate closely with HR, IT, and business leaders to develop scalable, integrated, and user-centered technology solutions.
  • Drive the successful execution of large-scale transformation projects, including new module implementations, platform integrations, and process redesigns.
  • Create and maintain robust data governance frameworks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and security in line with privacy regulations like GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Manage key vendor relationships and lead negotiations to drive value and efficiency.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing HR Technology team, fostering innovation, accountability, and professional growth.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in HR technology, with 5+ years leading HRIS or People Tech teams in complex, enterprise environments.
  • Proven success in Workday implementation, optimization, and integration, especially with the Recruiting and Payroll modules.
  • Deep knowledge of core HR functional areas including talent management, benefits, learning & development, and service delivery.
  • Experience leading transformation during periods of rapid growth, M&A, or business restructuring.
  • Strong familiarity with supporting technologies such as ServiceNow, ATS, LMS, and other cloud-based HR systems.
  • Excellent project management and change leadership skills, with a track record of delivering enterprise solutions on time and on budget.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills — you know how to translate tech-speak for executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, IT, or a related field; certifications like Workday Pro or ServiceNow are a plus.

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn't just a systems role — it's a strategic leadership opportunity in a tech-forward organization with a mission to redefine the employee experience at scale. If you're looking to leave your mark through transformation, innovation, and empowered leadership — all while working remotely — this is your chance.
