What You’ll Do: 

The Field Technician Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting field technicians in their onsite technical support and service duties. Assisting with equipment installations, maintenance, repairs, and customer interactions. The assistant will help ensure that field technicians have the necessary tools, materials, and information to carry out their work effectively. All while collaborating closely with the field technician team and provide valuable support throughout the service process.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist field technicians with equipment installations, configurations, and setups at customer sites
  • Support field technicians during maintenance tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing repairs
  • Help in managing tools, equipment, and inventory necessary for field operations
  • Prepare work areas and ensure all required resources are available for field technicians
  • Provide logistical support, including loading and unloading equipment, transportation arrangements, and equipment preparation
  • Assist with documenting work activities, including service reports, equipment inventory, and customer communication
  • Aid in conducting equipment tests and quality checks to ensure proper functionality
  •  Assist in providing on site customer support and address customer inquiries or concerns
  • Collaborate with field technicians to share information, gather data, and coordinate tasks effectively


Required Qualifications:

  •  High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a technical support or customer service role 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and basic understanding of the equipment, systems, or technology that field technicians work with
  •  Knowledge with common tools, equipment, and components used in the field
  •  Knowledge in documenting work activities, including service reports, inventory records, and customer communication
  •  Skill to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow in a timely manner
  •  Skill to communicate effectively both written and verbal to interact with team members and customers while keeping a professional and courteous demeanor
  •  Skill to assist in identifying and diagnosing technical issues under the guidance of field technicians
  •  Ability to assist with troubleshooting and assist with repairs
  •  Ability to maintain a well-organized environment and keep track of tools, equipment, and inventory
  •  Ability to have a keen eye for detail to assist with equipment installations, configurations, and repairs accurately
  •  Ability to handle tasks that may involve lifting, carrying, or moving equipment in different environments, which may include outdoor or physically demanding conditions
  •  Ability to work collaboratively with field technicians and other team members while coordinating tasks, sharing information, and providing support as needed
  •  Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively in dynamic environments
  •  Ability to learn and expand knowledge about the field, equipment, and technical procedures
  •  Ability to be open to feedback and incorporating it into your work



Working Conditions:

  • Work is predominantly outdoors and, in all weather, and traffic conditions; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • The assigned schedule is agreed upon with resource management before hire.
  • The individual must be able to drive safely and wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment.
  • There are routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness, and unpleasant air condition
