This remote position is located in the Gulf states region of the United States.

Job Summary:

ENTRUST is looking for a business development professional to support the South Regions Gulf District focused on Electric Utilities. This individual could come in at an associate or manager level which will be dictated by experience. This individual will be responsible for ensuring excellence in delivery of full life cycle business development activities. This includes but is not limited to building a Business Development strategy and executable plan, building, and maintaining a pipeline of opportunities, ensuring competitive strategies, developing account management strategies to leverage service offerings, proposal development, and building relationships with ENTRUST’s current and prospective Utility clients.


This position will coordinate closely with other Business Development team members and the Product Line Leaders in identifying key sales targets with focus on selling engineering and consulting services. The key industry focus will be on Utilities that fall in the assigned territory. The main geographic focus will be in the Gulf District with particular focus on Electric Utility clients, while providing support as needed, to other crossover opportunity regions and business units. New account acquisition and existing account growth will be this person’s responsibility (70% new account acquisition – 30% existing account growth).  The core services represented will be for Power Delivery Engineering and Design, Power Generation, Renewable Energy Engineering,  and Consulting Services.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide field market intelligence such as competitive information and market or industry trends
  • Maintain data and manage analytics through utilization of CRM
  • Maintain and develop new business development opportunities
  • Call on existing accounts to support operations teams in mushrooming account revenues
  • Strong focus on targeting new clients to expand ENTRUST’s clientele
  • Provide service demonstrations “Lunch and Learns” as well as tradeshow attendance
  • Develop and maintain quality relationships with clients
  • Participate in preparation of responses to RFP’s
  • Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-5+ years’ experience in the Utility industry preferred
  • Engineering Degree preferred, Business/Sales Degree Accepted
  • Networked in the Utilities Sector in the South/Gulf region with utilities such as CenterPoint, Entergy, Oncor, OG&E, etc.
  • Ability to work independently across business functions in remote office setting
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving with an emphasis on proactive communication
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Unquestioned business and personal integrity
  • Ability and desire to travel 3 to 4 times a month (50-70% Travel) as needed
