The role of OQ Trainer will provide Operator Qualification training for gas utilities installation crews and field utility inspection teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Make SAFETY the #1 priority by adhering to and enforcing all company safety standards.

· Responsible for working with field utility inspectors for on-the-job training, effectively evaluating employee task knowledge, communicating proper techniques, and lead group training.

· Provide training, testing, evaluation, proctoring and auditing of Company, Client and Contractor Employees for Operator Qualification, and Non-Operator Qualification tasks (not limited to the following):

o Initial - Operator Qualification (OQ)

o Initial – Pipe Joining Qualification (PJQ Steel & Plastic)

o Requalification(s) for OQ and PJQ

o Other Trainings as required

· Maintain the Operator Qualification program for company and clients OQ assessments, as needed, to ensure employees are properly qualified and meet qualification requirements.

· Determine initial training requirements for each employee or contractor personnel and ensures that all training is completed satisfactorily in pursuit of new employee development.

· Uphold training schedules and administers refresher training.

· Maintain all training documentation, including initial and refresher training records, outlines of training, training schedules, etc.

· Evaluate and maintain inspection and testing reports.

· Develop project specific training documentation and control procedures.

· Audit field training documentation as needed, and train field employees on proper documentation procedures.

· Maintain control and inventory of all tools and equipment serialized locators that have been issued.

· Maintain a professional relationship with client and their contractors, other team members, and consistently deliver excellent client work.

· Execute job duties safely and in accordance with company policies, standards, and guidelines.

· Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum one year installing/maintaining underground utilities, specifically natural gas distribution system piping and equipment OR performing third party inspection for the installation of these facilities.

· Knowledge of DOT Operator Qualification Rules and its application to the industry.

· Experience in developing technical documentation and/or training materials related to Operators and Maintenance is preferred.

· Demonstrated experience coordinating and communicating information across company and business lines.

· Required to have a well-developed knowledge, and the successful completion of the following training, certification and evaluations:

o Pipe Joining Qualification (PJQ)

o Operator Qualification (OQ)

o Emergency Response

· Previous experience with Installation or inspection of natural gas transmission, water, wastewater, oil/gas, or other utilities may be considered.

· Ability to conduct small group training sessions

· Ability to read and understand construction/technical drawings and specifications.

· Ability to use email, mobile devices, MS Office, and PDF software during your daily activities, including completed technical documentation.

· Must be willing to travel approx. 50-75% of the time throughout the region.

· Mandatory PPE – Personal Protective Equipment will be company issue.

· Must be able to pass DOT (compliant) drug screen.

Driving / Transportation:

· License/Certification: Possession of a valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record is an on-going requirement.
