Purpose of Job:

This position is responsible for assisting the Renewable Gas group within the Emerging Energy Solutions Sector of ENTRUST. The Renewable Gas Manager is a seller / doer that will complete business development and project execution. The Renewable Gas group focuses on Hydrogen, Renewable Natural Gas and other emerging energy technology projects within the natural gas industry. These projects could also include industrial client projects as well. Business development efforts will include identifying key potential sales targets with focus on selling engineering and consulting services to clients interested in reducing carbon emissions and/or implementing a decarbonization plan. The key industry focus will be with current Natural Gas Utilities and Midstream clients. New account acquisition will be the primary goal with existing account growth being a part of this person’s responsibility (60% new account acquisition – 40% existing account growth). The core services represented will be Renewable Gas design services.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Assist with field market intelligence, e.g., competitive information and market or industry trends
  • Maintains and develops new business development opportunities
  • Calls on existing accounts to support BD / Operations teams in expanding account services and revenues
  • Provides capability and technical service demonstrations “Lunch and Learns” as well as road show demonstrations
  • Developing and maintaining quality relationships with clients
  • Participating in preparation of responses to RFP’s


Project Management:


  • In accordance with the Client’s Project Management process, prepare and/or update financial forecasts, project schedules, and other necessary reports on a weekly or monthly basis, or as required
  • Lead project meetings, take meeting minutes and distribute to all project team members
  • Promptly respond to project inquiries from client management or support teams as necessary
  • Notify project stakeholder immediately in the event that the project is forecast to exceed approved budget or schedule or if significant project issues have been identified
  • Perform project administrative activities including purchase and change orders, work status verification, processing of unvouchered liabilities, invoice reviews and updating overall project status
  • Coordinate design development, drawing submittals and review
  • Resolve emergent field issues
  • Track and manage project compliance (non-regulatory and regulatory)
  • Support resolution of any siting/permitting, municipality, and/or abutter issues
  • Facilitate contractor sourcing activities including issuing RFP’s, bid analysis, and award recommendations
  • Lead and/or perform project close-out activities
  • Manage client relationships to ensure all expectations are understood and met. Work with ENE management team as necessary to ensure the maintenance of positive client relationships, including the resolution of any client concerns. Project management / project execution and team leadership


Education, Certifications and/or Experienced Required:

  • 8-10+ years’ experience in the Renewable Energy / Natural Gas industry preferred.
  • Engineering Degree preferred
  • Well networked in the Utilities Sector
  • Prior experience working with engineering services firms, renewable energy consultant, renewable energy laboratories and/or networked into Utilities and Midstream markets.
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Unquestioned business and personal integrity
  • Ability and desire to travel 3 to 4 times a month (50-70% Travel) as needed


Working Conditions and Environmental/Physical Demands:

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the Firm; must also be able to work at a desk for long periods of time (2-3 hours); strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
