Job Summary:

The Sr. Analyst will have advanced knowledge of GIS and/or other data system technology and an advanced knowledge of at least one of the following: advanced analytical workflows, comprehensive data management process background, technical solution development, programming, and/or database administration. A Sr. Analyst leads and mentors Associates, Technicians, Sr. Technicians and Analysts. A Sr. Analyst understands complex business problems and articulates technical solutions resolving the business need. The Sr. Analyst communicates with Engineers, project stakeholders and other Subject Matter Experts to orchestrate the completion of projects and initiatives.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Leverages advanced knowledge of GIS and other data system technology to support the success full completion of projects and programs.

·      Anticipates and communicates potential problems and present potential solutions.

·      Reviews initial project scopes with Project Manager, develops functional requirements and deliverables, and contributes to the overall project approach.

·      Coordinates sub-teams to accomplish project goals, may include establishing and supporting achievement of project metrics.

·      Communicates with Engineers, project stakeholders and other Subject Matter Experts to orchestrate the completion of projects and initiatives.

·      Conducts direct client communication with minimal supervision of manager or project lead.

·      Establishes and oversees QA processes throughout project completion.

·      Supports the project manager in team building and ramp ups as required by scope, schedule and budget.

·      Oversees day-to-day project operations; facilitates activities with other teams, departments and groups.

·      Mentors junior team members in ENTRUST processes, growth opportunities and project skills.

·      Identifies strategic opportunities for ENTRUST’s data solutions team and required skills to address the opportunities. Provides insight to managers and leaders to stay ahead of industry changes. 

·      Performs all other duties as assigned

 

Data Management

·      Oversees mid-large sized teams in day-to-day project operations.

·      Maintains awareness of project health and performance through participating in tracking and managing financial aspects in addition to report forecasting with assistance.

·      Establishes processes for awarded projects and performs independent interviews/ providing feedback for consideration to hire.

·      Conducts independent communication with client.

·      Anticipates and communicates potential problems while presenting viable solutions

 

 

Consulting & Analytics

·      Leads new analytical project start-ups with developing the workflows, process and QA/QC standards while leading on ongoing projects.

·      Showcases how GIS and/or other applications can be used to resolve potential problems or accomplish analytical tasks.

·      Leads internal and external meetings and communicate directly with the client under Project Manager guidance.

·      Refines specific skill set(s) within the group and begins leading initiatives focused on skills and training the team.

·      Runs day-to-day project operations while supporting lead on the financial aspects of the project.

 

Tech Systems and Development

·      Leadership over small initiative or defined ownership over one or more pieces of technology or practice. 

·      Plans of health and use of owned technology or practice.

·      Trains SMEs within vertical. 

·      Establishes new standards and executing/delegating tasks on significant research items. 

·      Produces training and core competency materials.

 

Required Qualifications:

·      GIS certification and equivalent five years work GIS experience preferably in a natural gas or electric utility environment, or

·      Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in GIS related discipline

·      Three years associated with the development and maintenance of gas and/or electric utility/transmission GIS databases, including database administration to support the utility GIS Network Connectivity Model is a plus

·      Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment

 

Preferred Qualifications: (if applicable)

·      Moderate knowledge and proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS or GE SmallWorld for map creation and data management and Microsoft Office

·      Basic knowledge and proficiency of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD Map 3D

·      Strong knowledge and skill of developing programs and managing departments

·      Skill to be a strong supervisor and leader providing regular guidance, instruction, and direction to a group of individuals.

·      Skills to interview prospective employees following the guidelines set by Human Resources.

·      Strong verbal and written communication skills including effective listening. 

·      Ability to support new analytical project startups with developing the workflows, process and QA/QC standards.

·      Ability to take the lead on ongoing analytical projects.

·      Ability to provide ongoing ability to critically evaluate and understand how GIS and/or other applications can be used in the analysis workflows.

·      Ability to lead internal meetings and participate in client communication or meetings under team lead.

·      Ability to develop the understanding of a specific skill set(s) within the group to become an early SME.

·      Ability to understand what goes into running the day-to-day project operations.

·      Ability to establish credibility and be decisive; able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.

·      Ability to multitask and be attentive to detail and quality

·      Ability to effectively communicate ideas/instructions with appropriate tools/products.

·      Ability to be highly organized, multitask, and oversee several projects simultaneously.

·      Ability to effectively and consistently employ time management skills to achieve objectives.

·      Ability to listen and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

·      Ability to write concise technical e-mails and reports to management and client.

·      Ability to interact in a professional manner with managers, peers, clients, and customers.

 


  • Benefits & Salary: This position pays between $65,000 and $73,000 annually and is an exempt position.
  • Benefits offered include company sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
  • Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours.
  • May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
