ROLE NAME: ENTERPRISE DATA CENTER RISK SPECIALIST


TEAM PROFILE: Enterprise Data Center (EDC) is our company department, part of Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) function, responsible for the provisioning and management of data centers from initial requirements, their construction or selection, and the support the technology equipment and asset life cycle management from installation to disposal. EDC supports the Firm's business and technology requirements by delivering world-class data center facility management through a global team of 300 professionals operating a portfolio of 130+ enterprise owned and co-location sites managed by 3rd parties. Delivering award-winning data center facilities management in a world-class way, EDC maximizes data center, and its assets, stability and efficiency by focusing on operations, engineering, standards, risk agenda, capacity management, applications migrations, tooling/automation, strategy definition and execution.


CORE FUNCTION: The Risk officer develops and champions the risk agenda across EDC, ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, controlled, managed and reported. Providing risk management awareness through effective communication, consultation and service to both teams globally. This opportunity will provide the individual with a chance to liaise with senior team members to lead top initiatives and directly engage with regulatory bodies and teams across multiple disciplines and regions. The candidate will be working out of our company Montreal office with the global EDC team.


KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

#Engagement with Firm wide risk and control groups, including first and second line of defense risk functions, as appropriate to develop support the EDC risk agenda and serve as central point of contact for questions concerning EDC risks.

#Serve as key stakeholder and sponsor for EDC portfolio of risk remediation activities, including leading program efforts and driving requirements to delivery teams.

#Manage and participate in EDC risk assessments, internal testing of operational policies and procedures, remediation scoping, reporting and engagement with stakeholders.

#Monitoring the appropriateness and completeness of key risk and control metrics within risk tolerance on behalf of the organization.

#Drive and manage the implementation of remediation plans issues arising from formal risk assessments, audits or other identified improvements.

#Support audits and reviews performed by internal or external groups from initiation through closure, liaise with global teams to address queries and gather evidence, facilitate closure of resulting remediation actions.

#Build strong relationships with management teams globally to effectively execute the role of global Risk Officer.


Skills Required:

#Bachelor's degree in a related field

#5 to 7 years directly relevant experience in IT risk management and/or IT audits

#Previous experience with technology controls programs and risk domains (e.g. NIST, COBIT / ITIL frameworks)

#Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate requirements effectively and coordinate team discussion

#Must be detail-oriented, very organized and value the integrity of the data with strong analytical and problem-solving ability, capability switch context quickly and work on#Excellent teamwork skills, capable of working effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions, roles and able to interact effectively with all management levels

#Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

#Strong communication skills essential

# written and verbal and ability to present materials at peer and senior management levels

#High proficiency with MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Project) with advanced skill in data manipulation using Excel.


Skills Desired:

#Working knowledge of agile methodologies and organization principles

#Understanding of Operational Risk and associated regulations (e.g., Basel, SOX)

#Knowledge of data center operations and IT asset management (inventory, storage, disposal, etc.)
