Senior UI Designer
Overview

As a senior UI designer, you will report to the design system manager and contribute to a centralized design system, collaborating extensively with designers, engineers, and product owners. You should have comparable experience contributing to a design system and its ongoing evolution based on usage, project needs and client feedback.
Once here you will
• Maintain and promote the Morgan Stanley Online design system
• Create documentation for design and development teams (UI design guidelines, best practices, and standards)
• Promote inclusive design, designing for equity and accessibility
• Conduct comprehensive accessibility reviews and testing to ensure WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliance
• Partner closely with UX designers to ensure design consistency across the platform
• Contribute to UI solutions from concept to final hand-off to engineering
• Articulate design recommendations to product stakeholders
• Form strong partnerships with engineering teams to create frictionless design implementation
• Maintain processes tools for UX/engineering team to utilize our design system
• Deliver responsive designs that work across platforms such as mobile, tablet and notebook
Relevant experience and mindset
• An outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created UI solutions that solved business and user needs
• 3 years’ experience as a UI designer as a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
• Fluency in Sketch and Invision
• You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team
• You practice active listening and contribute in group situations (i.e. brainstorms, audits, critiques, whiteboard sessions, etc.)
• You have a high tolerance for complex projects with lots of ambiguity and you are resilient in the face of obstacles
• You have a relentless desire to validate assumptions and uncover a problems’ root cause by testing, learning, and iterating
• You constantly seek opportunities to evangelize and promote design thinking in a large organization
