Internal Communications Specialist for Cloud


As an Internal Communications Specialist for Cloud at Morgan Stanley, you will drive the strategy and execution of an end-to-end communications plan including both targeted and firmwide campaigns, helping to communicate adoption strategies and modern architectures used in the adoption of Cloud computing in both public and private clouds. You will be an integral part of a close-knit team, and on a regular basis will wear many hats — serving as strategist, content creator, copywriter, proofreader, editor, creative consultant, and multimedia specialist.

As an Internal Communications Specialist for Cloud, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. You must demonstrate remarkable project and time management skills and have a keen sense of how to manage competing deadlines. The successful candidate will work independently, but also jump at the chance to be a collaborative colleague with both your immediate team and other internal stakeholders including senior managers. You should solve problems practically by identifying and analyzing issues to develop alternative solutions; with the ability to demonstrate confidence with technology; gather, organize, develop, and present data and metrics to help us measure the effectiveness of our work. Familiarity with the Agile framework is a plus.

You will demonstrate your internal communications expertise to accomplish these and other critical functions by:

• Having ownership of the Cloud internal communications editorial calendar including proofreading, formatting, and coordinating with colleagues to ensure timely publishing of content that meets firm style and site standards; drafting original content as needed.

• Providing tactical support for internal campaigns and special projects in collaboration with functional leaders and internal clients — brainstorming solutions; generating extremely creative and engaging themes; developing messages, including written copy, visuals, and multimedia; and supporting implementation.

• Leading on assigned internal communications projects and campaigns, engaging with stakeholders to understand goals and needs, offering communications counsel, and developing recommended messaging and solutions

• Using and exploring innovative and cutting-edge media and communication vehicles to capture attention in a fast-paced professional services environment

• Developing a familiarity with a wide array of subject areas of internal clients, including cloud engineers, application developers, product owners, divisional leadership, operations, governance, finance, firm administration, and more.

• Measuring and reporting on effectiveness of campaigns; developing and disseminating reports on key metrics and engagement.

• Researching internal communications best practices, trends, and technologies in order to make recommendations for new tools and initiatives; identifying new communication opportunities and recommending appropriate messages and vehicles


Experience and Requirements

At least five (5) years of experience working with varied employee groups or clients, writing/editing, and developing internal campaigns for a range of different audiences is desired. The Specialist must possess advanced skills with tools to create polished content, including O365 and Jive along with basic photo editing skills.
