Position Description: Experience Level: 3- 5 years
The role is in the Regulatory IT group to aid in the ongoing enhancements to the Axiom reporting environment and implementation of industry-wide regulatory rule changes to the US/EMEA reporting framework. The individual would work closely with the Regulatory Controllers team, Finance Control team and associated Technology teams to analyze and implement Axiom business solutions.
The candidate must have strong Axiom technical skills and must be proficient in developing application using all of the main components of Axiom Controller view version 9.8 and above.They will be expected to work as a member of a development team and participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, with a focus on developing business functionality aligned delivery. The ideal candidate will possess solid technical and problem solving skills as well as the drive to learn more about the business and new technologies.
Candidate should be open to work front to back on applications and must have a sound grasp of development best practices (such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, and test driven delivery) and system architecture. They will be expected to drive standardization and architecture discussion across the team and be responsible for high quality implementations. Although the firm has a distinct front-line Production Management team, the role will also involve co-ordination of level 3 production support and triage management of production incidents.Environment is conducive to long-term career growth where one can become a deep technical practitioner leading development teams or collaborate closely with Operations and/or Business as a Delivery Manager.
Mandatory Skills 3+ years experience in development of reports in AxiomSL Controllers View 9.8 and above - Good understanding on Data Sources, Data Models, Shorthand , Portfolios, Aggregations, Free Form ,Tabular Reports and Workflow using AXIOM Controller view tool based on regulatory report requirement Solid understanding of SQL and ETL technologies 3+ years of experience in a financial institution ideally within Regulatory Reporting Excellent verbal/written communication and collaborative skills required Desired SkillsExperience in implementing Axiom solutions (US/UK Regulatory framework)Experience in Python and Shell scriptingDatabase programming experience, ideally Sybase Axio's ASL language Understanding of Regulatory Landscape across various Jurisdictions, e.g. BOE/PRA/CCAR/Prime Reports Knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, continuous integration and continuous deliveryExperience with Agile methodologies and development tools like Jira, GIT, Jenkins etc
