Executive Summary: The Desktop Monitoring & Tools (DMT) Team provides development, engineering, and tool design solutions for end users, EUS, and other technology teams across the firm. The solutions include check scripts, user-facing tools, troubleshooting tools, and automation of common repeatable tasks. The team works with a myriad of technologies across the organization to ensure the right solutions are developed for the greater good of our clients.
Responsibilities include:
Gather requirements for each project and develop scripts/tools to meet the needs of such project
Responsible for design, development, automation, management, monitoring, and enhancements of the monitoring tools and applications in the environment.
Create custom scripts, and support the enterprise tools suite of monitoring applications. Design and configure customized monitors, alerts, and workflows
Implement changes and/or new features to support and secure the monitoring environment based on direction and guidance from management.
Qualifications/Skills:Required:
Minimum 10 years of technical support, engineering, integration or development experience
Expert-level experience with scripting with PowerShell of at least 5 years, including but not limited to developing: GUI products, support tools, automating custom solutions, login scripts, user-facing self-help utilities, etc.
Solid understanding of PowerShell Remoting
Knowledge of desktop packaging products (SCCM, MSI, Wise, etc.)
Experience with Windows client and server administration; Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2008
Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory environments and Group Policy management
Experience supporting Microsoft Outlook with Exchange based email systems
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP network transport and related protocols (CIFS, DFS, Kerberos, LDAP, RPC, DNS, etc.)
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; candidates must excel at developing action plans and coordinating efforts with multiple groups.
Excellent writing skills; candidates must be able to document their analysis and recommendations for both technical and business audiences.
Experience in requirements gathering
Ability to develop test plans and methodologies for testing
Preferred BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or related Engineering degree
Desired:
Previous experience supporting technology within the financial industry
Scripting language experience (VBScript, JavaScript, Perl, and Python, WMI, and Batch)
Familiarity with database implementations; ability to understand and write SQL statements
Experience in Enterprise Monitoring Tools
Experience developing Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp implementations
Experience searching/analyzing Splunk data, and creating Splunk alerts, reports, and dashboards
Prior knowledge of VMware and Citrix
Experience/knowledge of performance engineering in large environments
