Institutional Securities Technology (IST)
Institutional Securities Technology (IST) is part of Technology. This group is responsible for developing enterprise applications for a diverse set of businesses including Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, and Global Capital Markets. In addition, IST provides technology solutions for client-aligned groups and company-wide divisions, such as Finance and Operations, post-trade functions within the Institutional Securities Group and standardized data and enterprise-wide services to provide leverage to the Firm's businesses.
Role Description:
Candidate will be responsible for the Listed Derivatives (LD) expiration and deliveries technology platform and the global development team. Futures and options expiry/delivery is one of the most complex and risky processes within LD and is at the intersection of numerous areas such as clearing house connectivity, reference data, transaction processing, operational workflow, risk system integration, books and records and internal/external reporting. Errors and delays in the process can result in significant financial loss to the firm and have direct client impact. The candidate will lead a global development team and interface with stakeholders across departments and divisions to drive current and future direction of the expiries/deliveries platform.
The candidate will possess a proven track record of success in the following areas:
Leadership of global development team delivering critical business and technical initiatives that span multiple areas
Financial services technology (Listed Derivatives post-trade experience preferred)
Proven ability to lead and engage at various level of detail from both business and technical perspective to overcome both day-to-day and strategic challenges
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
- 10-15 years overall experience with 5+ years in technology leadership role and Listed Derivatives post-trade experience is plus
- 6+ years of hands-on programming experience in core Java, DB2 and knowledge of Apache Spark, Scala, Perl, Angular
- Experience applying current architecture principles and development tools/processes
- Experience in Agile software development practices
- Must be able to interact with all levels of personnel within the organization and be effective with both business and technical teams
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring unfocused issues to resolution.
- Ability to understand customer business needs
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fast learner, self-starter, strong interpersonal and mentoring skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
