Position Description:
We are looking for a strong, senior level database developer to join our Legal & Information Management Technology team and help deliver key initiatives. The applicant should be a solid database developer using SQL, SQL PL, PL/SQL with strong database modeling and data architecture knowledge in building and delivering high performing database applications. Prior experience in finance or legal operations will be useful, however, the ability and willingness to quickly master new technical and business concepts will be considered. The applicant will be working with an energetic team of highly intellectual and creative developers who work on bleeding edge projects using a variety of different technologies.
Skills Required:
- 5 to 8 years of hands on experience in relational database development using SQL and SQL PL in IBM DB2 UDB (10+) environments. Should be able to understand requirements and write high performing SQL queries and SQL PL procedures and packages optimized for OLTP, BI reporting and analytics.
- Strong expertise in relational database architecture, modeling, and database design principles. Solid expertise in IBM DB2 UDB. In addition, hands-on experience in Oracle is preferable.
- Strong hands-on experience in the associated systems and software components including but not limited to Linux, Unix, shell scripting, version management with git and batch job schedulers with practical experiencing of leveraging the same during development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Should be able to troubleshoot and optimize queries.
- Self-starter, take ownership and accountability in handling end-to-end DB SDLC requirements
- Team player with strong attitude and work ethics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Candidate is expected to work with global teams and hence should be clear in both verbal and written communication.
- Write unit tests that exercise all database components of the deliverables.
Skill Desired:
- Expertise and hands-on experience in both IBM DB2 UDB (10+) and Oracle (12C+)
- Application level DBA skills on Oracle and IBM DB2 UDB
- Database Modeling using SAP Power Designer
- Meta data modeling for BI tools like SAP Business Objects, Cognos
- Optimize DB Structures and Objects for Analytics and Dashboarding using Tableau & Power BI
- Exposure to design and development principles using NOSQL and XML-based technologies
- SPARQL knowledge and familiarity with graph databases
