Description:

This is a critical role working as part of a small team responsible for providing increased transparency of technology costs to the front office businesses. You will support existing reporting processes, as well as become involved in providing new reporting capabilities to both internal and external clients, working closely with stakeholders in NY and London. Activities will include building conceptual / proof of concept reports and taking them forward to production. You will interact with our colleagues in other Technology divisions and Tech Finance to ensure data quality and participate in the report standardization. You will build a network of contacts across support services as your scope of influence grows. The role will involve providing analytics as required and driving organisational change to optimise how we provide financial transparency. Your insight and supporting metrics will help to support investment decision making across the Institutional Securities Group (ISG).


Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Monthly and ad hoc analysis and reporting to explain technology variances as required including (but not limited to) custom management reporting views to supplement available financial and program reporting

- Understand the total Technology manpower and the infrastructure bill and enable the IST central functions and the ISG BU Transparency functions to provide support and analytics to the ISG COO (Chief Operating Office)

- Partner with Tech Finance and Business Management to understand the details behind the numbers

- Provide support to IST/ISG’s planning activities, focusing on hardware (infrastructure capital) investments

- Provide analytics to support decision making in coordination with the BM teams and other stakeholders across the organization


Skills Required

-Experience in financial analysis and management reporting

-Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)

- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills

- VBA skills

- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, deliver timely, accurate and complete work on tight deadlines

- Strong planning and organizational skills

- Bachelors degree

- Have an aptitude for and enjoy working with numbers

- Good use of initiative, judgement and decision making

- Keen multi-tasker - flexible and adaptive to change and willing to learn and manage a broad range of tasks

- Basic business knowledge and interest - demonstrates willingness to learn about the business and the projects

- Self-starter able to complete role with minimal supervision, paying close attention to detail

- Pro-active: identifies other value-add areas. Identifies areas for improvement and suggests solutions


Skills Preferred

- Experience with SQL, MDX or other expression based languages

- Experience with interactive data visualization software (such as Tableau or QlikView)

- Experience in supporting a Technology department in budgeting and financial management Working knowledge of Microsoft Access & relational databases / reporting cubes Our Company is an equal opportunities employer.
