Overview

The Crisis Clinician is a licensed behavioral health professional responsible for providing immediate, trauma-informed mental health assessment and intervention services across multiple levels of crisis care. This role supports individuals experiencing acute psychological distress through crisis line coverage, mobile crisis response, emergency services, and crisis receiving center support. Clinicians play a critical role in stabilization, safety assessment, and determining appropriate levels of care while collaborating with emergency responders, healthcare providers, and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to mental health crises via phone, video, or in-person intervention
  • Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments, including evaluation of suicide and homicide risk, psychosis, substance use, and overall safety
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention, stabilization, and safety planning
  • Perform prescreening for emergency hospitalization in accordance with state regulations
  • Determine appropriate levels of care and coordinate referrals, hospitalization, or follow-up services
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, EMS, hospital emergency departments, and community partners
  • Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care in high-risk situations
  • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
  • Provide on-site or remote coverage for crisis receiving center services as assigned
  • Support the development and expansion of mobile crisis services
