Director of Nursing – Skilled Nursing
A well-established senior living organization in the Greater Seattle area is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations for its skilled nursing services.
This is an opportunity for an experienced skilled nursing leader who enjoys being close to the operation. The organization is looking for someone who can build trust with an established team, maintain strong regulatory performance, and provide visible, hands-on clinical leadership.
The Role
The Director of Nursing will provide overall leadership for skilled nursing clinical services, including:
- Leading and developing the nursing team
- Maintaining compliance with state and federal skilled nursing regulations
- Overseeing clinical quality, resident outcomes, and care delivery
- Partnering closely with administration and interdisciplinary leadership
- Supporting survey readiness and ongoing quality improvement
- Managing staffing, departmental resources, and nursing operations
- Developing and maintaining effective clinical policies and practices
- Building strong relationships with residents, families, and staff
- Creating accountability while earning the trust and buy-in of an established team
This is not a position for someone who wants to lead exclusively from an office. The successful candidate will be visible, accessible, and comfortable working alongside the clinical team when needed.
Qualifications
- Active Washington RN license
- Significant nursing leadership experience
- Strong skilled nursing and long-term care background
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Demonstrated success leading clinical teams
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with budgets, staffing, quality improvement, and clinical operations
- Ability to lead change while maintaining a positive team culture
