Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Primary Care

A large community health clinic in Kennewick, Washington is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its established primary care team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an advanced practice provider who enjoys providing comprehensive, patient-centered care and wants to make a meaningful impact within a diverse and underserved patient population.

The Opportunity

The NP or PA will provide comprehensive primary care while working alongside physicians, nurses, specialists, and other members of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The practice has a strong focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, patient education, and continuity of care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions
  • Conduct physical examinations and obtain comprehensive medical histories
  • Develop individualized treatment and care plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory testing, imaging, EKGs, and other diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications within applicable scope of practice
  • Provide preventive care, screenings, immunizations, and ongoing health maintenance
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and preventive care
  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide appropriate referrals and follow-up care
  • Perform clinical procedures appropriate to training and credentialing
  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Candidates may qualify through either the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pathway.

Nurse Practitioner

  • Graduate of a master's-level Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active and unrestricted Washington State ARNP license with applicable certification
  • Current Washington State RN license, as required
  • Active DEA registration with no restrictions

Physician Assistant

  • Master's degree from an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Active and unrestricted Washington State PA license
  • Active DEA registration with no restrictions
  • Current BLS certification

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a compassionate, collaborative provider with strong clinical and communication skills who is comfortable caring for patients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Community Health Center or FQHC experience is preferred, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable.
