Registered Dietitian – Community Health

Puget Sound Area | Western Washington

A large community healthcare organization in the Puget Sound area of Western Washington is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join its multidisciplinary care team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about preventive health, chronic disease management, and improving health outcomes through individualized nutrition care and patient education. The Registered Dietitian will work closely with medical providers and other members of the care team to support children, adults, and families across a diverse patient population.

The Opportunity

The Registered Dietitian will provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, counseling, education, and care planning for patients with chronic health conditions as well as those at increased risk for developing chronic disease.

Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinical staff, the Registered Dietitian will play an important role in helping patients develop practical and sustainable nutrition strategies that support their overall health and treatment goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutritional care plans
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy for patients with chronic diseases and other medical conditions
  • Support patients with prediabetes and diabetes through nutrition education and disease-management strategies
  • Provide nutrition counseling for adult and childhood obesity
  • Work with patients requiring specialized nutritional support, including those with celiac disease, gluten sensitivities, food allergies, and bariatric needs
  • Provide general nutrition education and counseling for both pediatric and adult patients
  • Support infant feeding and breastfeeding-related nutrition needs
  • Collaborate with medical providers regarding patients’ nutritional status, treatment plans, and areas of concern
  • Provide individual and group nutrition education
  • Assist in developing and implementing nutrition-related clinical protocols and programs
  • Document patient care accurately within the electronic health record
  • Participate as an active member of an integrated, multidisciplinary healthcare team

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian credential required
  • Washington State Registered Dietitian credential/licensure preferred
  • Commission on Dietetic Registration certification, as applicable
  • IBLCE and/or diabetes education certification preferred
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Experience providing nutrition services for patients with chronic conditions preferred
  • Experience working with both pediatric and adult populations is a plus
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems
