Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides comprehensive, patient-centered outpatient primary care to individuals across the lifespan. This role focuses on delivering high-quality care in a collaborative, team-based environment while addressing both medical and social determinants of health. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an underserved community, with eligibility for loan repayment programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-scope outpatient primary care, including preventive, chronic, and acute care
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physician
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics
- Coordinate referrals to specialty and ancillary services
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record (EHR) documentation (within 24 hours)
- Support continuity of care and efficient clinic operations
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, team-based care model
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community health prog
- Deliver culturally competent, compassionate care to a diverse patient population
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program
- Active, unrestricted Texas Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certification
- Current DEA registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
- Experience in community health, FQHC, or underserved settings preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
