Title: Family Practice Physician MD/DO
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer
Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the MD/DO will provide professional medical services in the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). HAHC staff provides quality medical care and dental services to patients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Performs physical examinations of new and existing patients and determines x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required.
· Interprets examination findings and test results and implements treatment plans.
· Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews.
· Provides continuing, comprehensive health maintenance and medical care to the entire family, including preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health.
· Directs outpatient, inpatient care, and services; participates in the established on-call group.
· Promote patient-centered care through a team approach, with emphasis on quality and safety.
· Participates in surgical, obstetrical, gynecological, and critical care procedures according to training and demonstrated ability.
· Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
· Personnel in a variety of health-related topics, including first-aid measures, basic and advanced cardiac life support, and health care maintenance.
· May teach family practice residents and medical students.
· Other clinical duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
Qualifications:
· Graduation from a college or university accredited by the American Medical Association with a Doctor of Medicine Degree
· Successful completion of an approved program of residency training in family practice
· Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventative medicine
· Knowledge of the state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and HHS-HRSA regulations of community health centers.
· Ability to work independently and make appropriate clinical decisions reflecting professional confidence and integrity
· Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, and the general public
· Ability to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and staff
· Computer efficiency and understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHR)
License/Certification:
· License to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
· CPR/AED Certification
· Board Certification in family practice plus current DEA registration
