Job Title:             Dentist  

Reports To:         Dental Director


SummaryProvides quality dental health care services to the patients of Our Integrated Community Health Center. The Dentist works independently and interdependently with the other clinic Providers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities1.              Provides clinical patient care, within the outpatient setting

 2.              Works within the scope of practice

 3.              Provides consultation to other clinic Providers

 4.              Assess patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic care

 5.              Responsible for complete and accurate documentation in the Electronic Dental Record

 6.              Responsible for complete and accurate billing of patient visits per our clinic policy

 7.              Provides clinical supervision and appropriate training of ancillary healthcare staff

 8.              Maintains all licensures, certifications, and requirements necessary to ensure credentialing

 9.              Attends all required meetings

 10.           Participates in the preceptorship program with Dental students

 11.           Participates in quality improvement programs

 12.           Clinical duties and responsibilities include:

a.              Suggests improvements to clinical performance through evidence-based programs and processes

b.              Assists the Dental Director in quality improvement programs and implements effective disease management programs, clinical protocols, and guidelines

13.           Communicates effectively with patients and all levels of the organization

14.           Maintains skill and knowledge of sound dental practice

General Development1.              Possesses advanced organizational skills, to organize projects or the work of others

2.              Works independently and as part of a team

3.              Develops priorities in response to changes in circumstances

4.              Devises effective health solutions

5.              Requires the incorporation of departmental/functional processes

 7.              Provides leadership of support staff

Professional and Educational Requirements1.   Graduation from an accredited dental school.

2.   Current Dentist licensure in the State

3.   DEA with no restrictions

Technical Skills1.              Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word

2.              Ability to use Microsoft Excel

3.              Knowledge of our Dental EMR program

4.              Ability to access and complete data entry

5.              Good communication skills
