Manufacturing Engineer

The energy transition depends on equipment that is built right the first time—turbines, grid hardware, and power systems that must perform for decades. This role turns design intent into repeatable factory results: higher yield, shorter cycle time, and products that leave the line ready for the field. You will own the manufacturing process, not just document it, and your work will show up in cost, quality, and on-time delivery.

Performance Objectives

  • Stabilize and improve critical manufacturing processes so first-pass yield rises and scrap and rework fall within the first year.
  • Cut cycle time on assigned product families by removing bottlenecks, balancing work content, and standardizing methods.
  • Launch new or revised designs into production with validated work instructions, tooling, and process capability before the first customer ship date.
  • Resolve recurring quality escapes at the root cause and close corrective actions with measurable process changes, not temporary containment.
  • Reduce unit conversion cost on priority parts through make-versus-buy decisions, process redesign, and supplier process alignment.
  • Build a capable workforce on your lines by training operators and technicians to standard work and confirming the standard holds on the floor.

Environment & Resources

You will sit with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production on the shop floor and in the design reviews that feed it. You report to the manufacturing engineering leader and partner daily with design engineering, supply chain, and operations supervisors. Expect access to CAD and PLM, the plant MES and ERP, metrology and process-capability data, and a defined tooling and capital budget for justified improvements. Lean problem-solving and structured change control are how work gets done here.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, or a related engineering field, or equivalent applied experience.
  • Proven ownership of a production process from launch or transfer through sustained capability, including PFMEA, control plans, and standard work.
  • Hands-on use of process data—capability studies, yield, cycle time, and cost—to choose and verify improvements.
  • Experience introducing engineering changes into a live factory without missing quality or schedule commitments.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional problem solving with operators, quality, and suppliers and to write instructions people will actually follow.

Why This Role

  • Your process decisions ship in equipment that generates and moves power at grid scale.
  • You work complex electromechanical products, not commodity assembly, with real process and tooling depth.
  • Improvement targets are visible: yield, cost, cycle time, and field reliability—not activity for its own sake.
  • You influence both the factory and the next design, closing the loop between how it is drawn and how it is built.

Apply

If you have taken a process from unstable to capable and can prove it with the numbers, apply. Bring the results you owned and the problems you are ready to own next.
