Responsibilities:
- The Senior Surveying Professional will play a key role in delivering high-quality surveying services for land development projects.
- This individual will lead survey operations, oversee field and office workflows, ensure technical accuracy, and collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams.
- The ideal candidate brings deep surveying expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to exceptional client service.
What you will do:
- Lead and manage surveying activities for land development and engineering projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
- Oversee field crews and office staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project timelines.
- Perform advanced survey calculations, QA/QC reviews, and final deliverables for client submissions.
- Interpret engineering plans, plats, legal descriptions, and client requirements.
- Serve as a technical resource for project managers, engineers, and clients.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage project workflow, scheduling, and quality standards across multiple active jobs.
- Support business development efforts by providing technical insight during client meetings or proposals.
- Mentor junior survey staff and support their professional development.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance productivity and service quality.
What you will need:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, preferably within land development or civil engineering environments.
- Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license in the state of Florida strongly preferred (or ability to obtain licensure within a defined period).
- Strong expertise with GPS, robotic instruments, data collectors, CAD software, and survey processing tools.
- Proven experience leading field crews or survey teams.
- Strong understanding of Florida surveying standards, plats, subdivisions, and construction processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
