Security Practice Lead | Microsoft-Focused MSP | £75,000–£100,000 + Benefits | Hybrid

Don't inherit someone else's security practice. Build your own.

Ice Recruitment is working exclusively with a well-established, Microsoft-focused Managed Service Provider that's entering an exciting new growth chapter. With a new CEO driving a company-wide transformation, the business is investing heavily in becoming a security-led MSP — and cyber security now sits at the heart of everything it delivers.

This isn't a role to maintain an existing function. It's a role to create one.

The Opportunity

As Security Practice Lead, you'll design and build a market-leading security services portfolio from the ground up — spanning MDR, SIEM, Identity, Compliance and AI SOC — while shaping go-to-market strategy alongside sales and pre-sales, and acting as the technical authority behind the practice.

Reporting to the COO with direct access to the CEO and senior leadership team, this is a genuinely rare opportunity to influence the direction of an ambitious technology business at exactly the right moment.

What You'll Own

  • Security portfolio development — defining and productising services with clear scope, SLA and pricing
  • Service delivery — leading managed security delivery, working within an automated remediation workflow (Tenable, NinjaOne, HaloPSA)
  • Sales & pre-sales support — technical discovery, solution design, proposals and bid support
  • Technical leadership — the senior technical voice on security across delivery, sales and client engagements
  • Vendor relationships — Microsoft (Sentinel, Defender) and Tenable

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience designing and delivering managed security services in an MSP or MSSP environment
  • Hands-on expertise across MDR, SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel preferred), Identity and endpoint security
  • Experience with vulnerability management tooling (Tenable or equivalent) and remediation workflows
  • Commercial awareness — margin, attach rates, recurring revenue
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable at board level and in technical pre-sales

Desirable: HaloPSA/PSA platform experience, Microsoft Security certifications (SC-200/300/400), automation/API experience, compliance framework knowledge (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, NIST, DORA).

Package

£75,000–£100,000 DOE, hybrid working (2–3 days onsite), salary sacrifice pension and EV scheme, BUPA private medical, birthday leave, full support for professional certifications.
