Account Manager
You will own a portfolio of enterprise relationships and turn IT asset intelligence into decisions finance, procurement, and IT can defend. The role matters because customers do not buy another dashboard—they buy control of software, cloud, SaaS, and hardware spend, plus the confidence to face an audit or a renewal without guesswork. Your success is retained revenue, expanded use of the platform, and customers who can prove what they own, what they use, and what they should stop paying for.
Performance Objectives
- Protect and grow a named book of business by securing renewals on time and expanding into license optimization, cloud and SaaS management, FinOps, and hardware asset visibility where the data supports it.
- Build multi-threaded relationships across ITAM, procurement, finance, and IT operations so commercial outcomes do not depend on a single champion.
- Convert discovery, inventory, and license-position insight into executive business cases that quantify savings, risk reduction, and audit readiness.
- Run quarterly business reviews that close the loop on adoption, value realized, open risks, and the next commercial commitment.
- Forecast renewal and expansion revenue accurately, flag risk early, and keep a qualified pipeline tied to customer outcomes rather than activity.
- Coordinate product, delivery, and support so customers reach time-to-value without commercial surprises or stalled implementations.
- Displace status-quo tools and manual spreadsheets inside existing accounts by showing clearer ownership, shadow IT exposure, and license position.
Environment & Resources
You will sit in the commercial team and report to sales leadership, working daily with solution specialists, customer success, and product experts who know software asset management and cloud cost in depth. You will run the account in the CRM, with access to customer usage and asset data that should drive every conversation. Customers are global enterprises; the motion is consultative, multi-stakeholder, and hybrid. Scope and targets are set with your manager against a defined book—not an unbounded territory.
Essential Qualifications
- A track record owning renewals and expansion in B2B enterprise software, ideally IT management, SAM, ITAM, or cloud cost.
- Ability to read a license, inventory, or cloud-spend story and turn it into a commercial plan a CFO and an ITAM lead will both accept.
- Experience running QBRs and multi-threaded renewals through procurement, not only friendly user conversations.
- Clear writing and speaking for practitioners and executive buyers, with no reliance on jargon to sound credible.
- Disciplined forecasting and CRM hygiene that leadership can trust.
Role Selling Points
- The product is judged on avoided spend and reduced audit exposure, so value is visible if you do the work.
- A focused platform across on-prem, datacentre licensing, cloud, and SaaS—not a generic suite you have to apologize for.
- Early-company scale with enterprise buyers: you help shape how accounts are run, not just follow a finished playbook.
- Direct access to domain specialists instead of a distant product organization.
- A global customer base served by a tight team, so your book is real and your impact is visible.
