Business Intelligence Manager

Location: Hybrid – UK

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Overview

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to take ownership of reporting, dashboards and data insight across the business.

This role will act as the organisation’s data and reporting owner, ensuring leadership teams have access to clear, accurate and meaningful information to support decision-making.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Operations and Technology to understand reporting requirements, define key metrics and deliver dashboards and analysis that help the business understand performance.

Our core systems include Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Business Central, alongside other operational platforms. The reporting environment is primarily built around Power BI within the Microsoft Power Platform.

This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will design and deliver reporting solutions directly, while helping the organisation continue to develop its data and reporting capability over time.

The role will also support elements of the wider Power Platform estate, including Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps.

Strong stakeholder management, good business analysis skills and the confidence to engage with senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders are essential.


Key Responsibilities

Data & Reporting Ownership

  • Act as the owner of business reporting and dashboards across the organisation
  • Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports used by leadership teams
  • Ensure reporting is consistent, accurate and trusted across the business
  • Maintain clear definitions for key business metrics and KPIs



Business Intelligence & Analysis

  • Deliver reporting across key business areas including:
  • Financial performance
  • Sales pipeline and forecasting
  • Operational performance and service metrics
  • Strategic KPIs and board reporting
  • Translate complex data into clear and practical business insight
  • Support leadership teams with analysis that helps inform decision-making

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Sales and Operations to understand reporting needs
  • Engage confidently with senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders
  • Present dashboards and insights in a way that supports better decision-making
  • Act as the central point of ownership for reporting across the organisation

Systems & Data Integration

  • Work across core systems including:
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Microsoft Business Central
  • Other operational platforms used within the business
  • Develop and maintain data models that support reliable reporting
  • Ensure the right data is captured at source to support meaningful reporting
  • Configure and optimise data structures within Dynamics CRM and Business Central where required to ensure key metrics can be captured and reported effectively
  • Work with system owners or technical teams where deeper system changes are required

Power Platform

  • Support and maintain the reporting and automation elements of the Microsoft Power Platform, including:
  • Power BI
  • Power Automate
  • Power Apps
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and automate workflows
  • Ensure solutions follow sensible governance and best practice

Data Governance

  • Support the development of standards around data quality, ownership and reporting definitions
  • Document key reports, metrics and data models
  • Help ensure appropriate governance around data access and usage


Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong experience delivering business intelligence and reporting solutions
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, including data modelling and dashboard development
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and/or Business Central
  • Experience working with the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable engaging with senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders
  • Strong analytical ability and commercial awareness
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear business insight

Desirable

  • Experience working in a technology services or MSP environment
  • SQL and data modelling experience
  • Experience integrating data across multiple operational systems
  • Exposure to Azure data services or modern data platforms
  • Microsoft certifications in relevant areas would be a strong advantage, particularly:
  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300)
  • Power Platform Functional Consultant (PL-200)
  • Power Platform App Maker (PL-100)
  • Dynamics-related certifications

Equivalent practical experience working with Microsoft Dynamics and the Power Platform will also be considered.
