Why are we hiring? 

Our company is growing, and a team reorg identified a need for this role. We created this role to keep up with demand, create more demand, and help create a sustainable operation. 


What will you be doing? 

  • Lead sales for our team, identifying, nurturing and closing new business opportunities. 
  • Help keep and grow existing client relationships. 
  • Create and improve client-centric experiences. 
  • Recommend tools and resources that would enable you to do your job better. 


What does success look like? 

  • Closing a minimum of $85,000 in sales per month. 
  • Maintaining a consistent pipeline of business leads. 
  • Creating and maintaining positive client relationships. 


What traits and capabilities are needed to do this job well? 

Specific to the role: 

  • Selling, Persuasion & Negotiation: in this role, selling is your primary responsibility. We want to ensure you enjoy this type of work, are able to close deals, and meet key sales targets.  
  • Hunter Mentality: ability to seek out, identify and secure new clients.  
  • Consultative Problem-Solving & Relationship Driven: our services require a consultative approach and a relational relationship to build trust, identify client needs, and offer solutions to help them achieve their goals.  
  • Foresight & Strategic Thinking: you will need to research, build and maintain a full pipeline of sales prospects. 
  • Business Intelligence/Acumen: we want you to be informed about our industry, competitors, and value proposition, and leverage that information to help you - and us - be successful.  

Team and organization: 

  • Conscientiousness: we are looking for a dependable, proactive, diligent, driven, and goal-oriented team member.  
  • Versatile Communicator: communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and personality types (verbally and written means of communication), and lead sales calls and presentations. 
  • Virtual & Tech-friendly: comfort and willingness to learn and use different software programs and tools for meetings and communicating. Our team primarily works remotely. 
  • Collaboration: we work together, support one another, and share our work. 
  • Appreciate Dimensions of Diversity: appreciate and celebrate the various dimensions of diversity and be an active learner of culture and DEI trends. 


What will the day-to-day look like? 

  • Closing deals with new clients who are in need of our services. 
  • Researching and contacting new business leads for DEI services. 
  • Speaking with prospective clients about their goals, needs and problems, and offering solutions to meet their needs. 
  • Developing and/or tailoring proposals for new business opportunities. 
  • Negotiating rates based on Colorful Connections’ budgets and closing the sale. 
  • Work with Supplier Diversity contacts and programs to secure service contracts. 
  • Engage current and past clients on how we can continue to support their DEI journey. 
  • Help refine sales processes and procedures and recommend improvements.

Ideal start date, January 2024. Targeted Compensation = $100k (50% variable based on performance).
