What They Need


As the National Vice President of Finance working for our client, you will be in a strategic and operational role in which you will need to understand the business to help drive growth while balancing financial risk, collaborating with other departments and a network of franchisees, and while leading a team of finance and accounting professionals.




What You’ll Do


  • Oversee Financial Reporting & Team Management: Lead the Company's accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate, timely processing and reporting of financial information. Guide the financial operations team in effectively performing accounting, control, audit, and administrative duties.
  • Prepare and Present Board of Directors and Management Team Financial Information Reporting Packages: Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages including financial statements, financial conditions, projections, key performance indicators, and analysis and Present periodically to various stakeholders.
  • Oversee Franchisee Accounting Systems & Services: Manage the accounting systems and services provided to franchisees, ensuring timely delivery and adequate quality control oversight. Identify opportunities for system enhancements to improve processes and information reporting.
  • Oversee Management of Cash Flow: Monitor and manage the Company's cash flow projections to meet working capital needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Monitor Franchisee Financial Process and Compliance: Regularly assess the financial processes and ensure their compliance with franchise operating policies.
  • Develop & Achieve Financial Goals: Lead the development, projection, monitoring, and achievement of strategic and financial goals.
  • Direct Budgeting & Forecasting Process: Oversee the process and preparation of accurate Annual Budget and Quarterly forecasts, project budgets, and departmental budgets.
  • Support Information Systems: Assist in addressing and managing information system issues impacting Finance and Accounting.
  • Provide Financial Consultation: Support other functional areas with financial analysis and provide senior-level consultation as needed.
  • Manage and cultivate the Company’s banking relationships.
  • Manage and cultivate third party lending/funding relationships and programs to assist franchises with funding working capital, construction and land acquisition needs.
  • Administer the Company’s mezzanine lending program with Franchises. Manage all aspects of the program including the underwriting, approval and documentation processes.
  • Ensure Compliance & Audit Oversight: Ensure all operational and financial reports are submitted accurately and on time, in alignment with the Company’s financial policies and procedures and in accordance with GAAP. Lead the preparation and execution of external audits, maintaining compliance with all regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage ESOP Program: Oversee the administration and valuation of the Company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with corporate financial goals.
  • Corporate Tax Preparation: Work with outside tax firm to direct and manage all aspects of corporate tax preparation, ensuring timely filing, compliance with tax regulations, and effective tax planning strategies to optimize the Company’s tax position.
  • Insurance Program Management: Oversee the renewal and management of all corporate insurance policies, including property/general liability, cyber, and builders risk insurance, ensuring adequate coverage and cost-effectiveness.

 



What You’ll Need


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ Years of Strategic Leadership in a financial role, including at least 5 years in a senior financial position, ideally within the homebuilding or construction industry.
  • Expertise in Cost Accounting specific to the homebuilding or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Business Planning & Forecasting: Skilled in creating and communicating business plans and long-term forecasts, with a proven ability to deliver timely and accurate financial information.
  • Deep Knowledge of Accounting & Controls: Demonstrated expertise in accounting, controls, and business strategy.
  • Operational & Financial Integration: A deep understanding of how operational factors influence financial outcomes, coupled with the ability to collaborate across functions and manage these intersections effectively.
  • Advanced Systems Proficiency: Expertise in finance and accounting systems, including advanced Excel skills. Demonstrated ability to quickly and accurately learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Leadership in Finance: Proven track record of successfully leading and developing accounting and finance teams.
  • Experience with managing Banking and Lending Relationships and Programs.
