What They Need


Our client is seeking two Land Acquisition Associates, both will be responsible for identifying and assessing acquisition opportunities in specific counties in Central Florida. The Land Acquisition Associate will work in the company’s Lakeland office 3-4 days per week and source land opportunities 1-2 days each week in his/her target markets. 

 


 

What You'll Do


  • Source and identify land suitable for acquisition and development for residential subdivisions by conducting the necessary market research and due diligence.
  • Determine land values in the specific market by checking property sales by means of public records, developers, and other professional affiliates.
  • Perform land use and financial analysis to complete feasibility analysis on various parcels of land.
  • Collaborate with the planners and civil engineers to complete the full site analysis and costs.
  • Identify and qualify potential land acquisitions in alignment with HH’s goals.
  • Prepare land valuation analysis and development budgets.
  • Collect all pertinent data for potential acquisitions.
  • Negotiate the acquisition of properties directly with landowners, attorneys, or brokers to secure the best price.
  • Manage the land/lot purchase contract process with legal counsel, Director of Acquisition, and VP of Land.
  • Review and monitor purchase agreements to ensure scope of work is met.
  • Project-manage all land acquisition activities to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Collaborate with the Land Development Project Managers on potential development communities.
  • Develop business community relationships and scout other avenues for potential acquisitions.

 


 

What You'll Need


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of residential land development experience
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills
  • Must possess professional attitude to represent the company in a positive manner
  • Ability to perform, in a professional manner, multiple detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines
  • Computer literate with ability to work with Microsoft Office. Strong Excel and reporting skills are critical.
