FP&A Consultant

Overview

A growing advisory practice within a national accounting and consulting firm is seeking an experienced FP&A Consultant to support middle-market clients with financial planning, analysis, and decision support. This role works closely with client leadership teams to improve financial reporting, forecasting, and operational insights.

The position is designed for finance professionals who enjoy combining technical financial analysis with client-facing advisory work. You will partner with multiple organizations to strengthen their FP&A capabilities, build financial models, and deliver insights that support strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve financial planning and analysis processes for client organizations
  • Build and maintain financial models supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for client leadership
  • Perform variance analysis and identify operational and financial performance drivers
  • Create dashboards and reporting tools using platforms such as Power BI or similar visualization tools
  • Work with ERP systems and financial data platforms to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
  • Partner with client management teams to interpret financial results and provide recommendations
  • Support strategic planning initiatives through scenario modeling and financial analysis
  • Present financial insights and reporting outputs to internal and client stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, or advisory roles
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Experience with business intelligence or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms
  • Ability to work with large data sets and translate analysis into clear business insights
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with leadership teams
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus but not required
