Investment Associate – Real Estate

Peninsula | Fully Onsite

Propel Recruitment is partnering with a highly active real estate investment firm to identify an Investment Associate for its peninsula based team. With significant transaction activity and a growing portfolio, this is an opportunity to work across the full investment lifecycle rather than focusing solely on acquisitions.

The role spans acquisitions, asset management, portfolio analysis, financing and strategic investment decisions. The Associate will evaluate new opportunities as well as existing assets, digging into the financial and market data behind decisions to buy, sell, hold, finance or reposition investments.

This is not simply a modeling role. The team is looking for someone who can research assumptions, understand what is driving the numbers, identify risks and opportunities, and develop a point of view.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze prospective acquisitions and new investment opportunities
  • Evaluate existing assets, portfolio performance and strategic alternatives
  • Prepare buy/sell, hold and other investment analyses
  • Analyze debt, financing alternatives and their impact on investment performance
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models
  • Research market rents, comparable properties and key underwriting assumptions
  • Evaluate property and market data to identify risks, opportunities and trends
  • Support due diligence and transaction analysis
  • Prepare investment analyses and presentations for senior leadership
  • Assist with executive and board-level materials
  • Partner across asset management, operations and other areas of the organization
  • Visit properties as appropriate to support investment and asset-level analysis

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in real estate investments, acquisitions, asset management or a similarly analytical real estate environment
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; Argus experience is a plus
  • Ability to independently research, analyze and draw conclusions from financial and market information
  • Strong understanding of real estate valuation and investment fundamentals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree required

The Profile

You are naturally curious about why the numbers look the way they do, not just whether the model works. You know when to dig deeper, can exercise judgment without waiting for direction and are comfortable presenting your thinking to senior leaders.

This role is best suited for someone who wants broad exposure across real estate investments and the opportunity to contribute to decisions throughout the life of an asset.

$155-175K, plus discretionary bonus and benefits

This compensation range is a good faith estimate of the expected wage range you can expect to be paid upon hire.
