We're seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. Reporting to strong mentors, this role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to leverage the strong technical accounting foundation built in public accounting while gaining broader ownership and business exposure in industry.
You'll play a key role in the month-end close process, support both corporate accounting and a growing multi-site operating portfolio, and partner with leadership on process improvements and systems enhancements. Responsibilities
- Own key aspects of the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare account reconciliations and analyze balance sheet activity.
- Support both corporate accounting activities and a growing operating portfolio.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiencies.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data, build reports, and improve reporting processes.
- Support systems enhancements and process improvement initiatives as the organization continues to scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic accounting projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a strong preference for candidates coming directly from public accounting.
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience participating in month-end close and preparing account reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including working with large data sets, formulas, and analytical reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with Yardi or another ERP system is a plus.
- Exposure to retail, real estate, or other multi-site operating businesses is helpful but not required.

Location
- Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the Sacramento office.
- Sacramento-area candidates preferred.
- Bay Area candidates willing to relocate will also be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target Base Salary: $115-130K
- Annual bonus opportunity.

- This compensation range is a good faith estimate of the expected wage range you can expect to be paid upon hire.
