Corporate Assistant Accounting Manager – Affordable Housing
A well-established non-profit/real-estate organization is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to join its corporate finance team. This role is key in overseeing financial reporting for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting critical accounting operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations across multiple entities.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow reports and variance analyses.
- Supervise accounting staff, including Senior Accountant and AP Specialists.
- Oversee the accounts payable function, payment processing, and 1099 compliance.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures.
- Drive process improvements, including automation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MBA/CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidations, and intercompany accounting.
- Experience managing and developing accounting staff.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
