Human Resources Manager
Overview
The Human Resources Manager will play a hands-on, highly visible role within a growing organization of approximately 200 employees. This position reports to an HR Director, partners closely with payroll, supports and guides their HR Generalist, and serves as a primary HR point of contact for 10+ people managers. This role is ideal for someone who is personable, service-oriented, and comfortable being deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations and People Management Support
- Own HR deliverables and timelines, including I-9 compliance, annual performance reviews, certification and license tracking, and required employee documentation
- Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local labor laws, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Serve as a primary HR partner to 10+ managers, advising on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and day-to-day people matters
- Partner closely with payroll to ensure accurate employee data, timely updates, and compliance across systems
- Maintain and manage HR records and reporting within ADP Workforce Now
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed
- Support a workforce with a significant hourly and operational population
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers on recruiting efforts, including job description development, role branding, and compliance guidance
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires to ensure a smooth, compliant, and welcoming experience
- Provide guidance to HR team members on compliance and engagement best practices
Benefits, Leaves, and Employee Support
- Administer benefits programs, including medical, retirement, and leave of absence processes
- Serve as a resource to employees and managers on benefits questions and leave coordination
- Ensure accurate tracking and documentation related to benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations
Culture and Organizational Partnership
- Be a visible and approachable presence who understands the business and builds strong relationships across teams
- Act as a culture builder and steward, reinforcing organizational values and a service mindset
- Step in as needed to support company events, employee initiatives, or urgent operational needs
- Approach HR as a service function for both internal teams and client-facing environments
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience
- Spanish fluency strongly preferred
- 2+ or more years in a lead or managerial capacity preferred but not required
- Experience supporting hourly workforces and service-oriented or operational environments strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems, ideally ADP Workforce Now
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- HR certifications such as SHRM or PHR are a plus
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Collaborative, approachable, and solutions-oriented communication style
