Our client, a dynamic and growth-focused real estate investment/management firm, is looking to welcome a Senior Manager, Property Accounting who will lead financial operations across a diverse multi-family portfolio. This individual will play an essential role in overseeing financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and team development within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Location:
This is a hybrid position based in San Francisco, CA. Limited travel will be required to Los Angeles during the onboarding process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring all reporting is in compliance with GAAP.
- Collaborate with regional and on-site teams to drive financial performance and reporting excellence across the portfolio.
- Own the management of all General Ledger processes.
- Provide all external 3rd parties with relevant information related to the audit, in order to keep the company in good standing with regulators.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for both operations and capital planning.
- Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and fostering a tight-knit, solutions-driven culture of mutual respect and accountability.
- Support financial planning related to acquisitions, dispositions, and financing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within real estate investment or property management firms. Multifamily experience is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in team leadership, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, and operational accounting best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; RealPage experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage complex financial workflows in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
