About the Role and Your Impact:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of multiple construction and land development projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, the Accounting team, and external vendors to support day-to-day financial activities, including financial reporting, variance analysis, project costing, and various daily transaction work within the general ledger(s).Your attention to detail and proactive communication will directly contribute to project and company success.


This is a hybrid position, post the onboarding timeline and getting up to speed with the role. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements for multiple entities, including variance analysis, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and budget comparisons
  • Assist with month-end close by accurate recording of daily transactions within the general ledger, preparation of journal entries, timely and accurate month-end accruals, and managing job cost closeouts and fixed asset capitalization
  • Project accounting for dispositions, construction projects, and job costing—including reviewing contracts, calculating gains, proration, and ensuring appropriate allocations
  • Prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts, update projections and assist with cash flow forecasting
  • Manage cash and bank activity, deposits, cash flow, and real estate tax schedules to ensure timely payment and reporting
  • Apply and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and risk mitigation.
  • Provide audit and tax schedules, review financial packages.
  • Handle ad hoc projects and provide backup for other accounting team members as needed.


What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in project accounting, development accounting or construction related accounting 
  • Familiarity with job / project cost accounting principles and process controls
  • Experience with Tax Basis & GAAP Accounting
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel is required. Yardi Voyager experience is highly desired.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Range: 115-125K
