Overview
A well-established, upscale full-service hotel in the Greater Sacramento Area is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Sales & Marketing to lead all revenue-driving initiatives and oversee a high-performing Sales & Catering team.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a proven hospitality sales executive who excels at building market share, driving group and transient revenue, and developing strong community and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Strategy
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies across all market segments.
- Proactively solicit, develop, and manage key accounts to drive new and repeat business.
- Lead digital marketing initiatives, website optimization, and advertising strategy.
- Partner with Food & Beverage leadership to maximize banquet and outlet revenue.
- Increase hotel visibility through community engagement, industry associations, and trade shows.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic revenue planning.
- Ensure timely, accurate reporting and compliance.
Team Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Recruit, mentor, and develop Sales & Catering team members to exceed revenue targets.
- Negotiate group and event contracts within established parameters.
- Monitor competitive positioning, pricing strategies, and service standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
- Oversee departmental hiring, performance management, and payroll/expense controls.
Ideal Background
- 5+ years as a Senior Sales Manager or 3+ years as a Director of Sales in a full-service hotel environment.
- Experience with properties of 200+ guestrooms and 10,000+ sq. ft. of meeting space.
- Strong supervisory and team development experience.
- Upscale or Four-Star/Four-Diamond background preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Sacramento market familiarity is a plus, but not required.
- Strong financial acumen, forecasting capability, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
