We have partnered with Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) to assist them in finding top in their field doctors to join their team as faculty members in Small Animal Medicine. This new facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art tools needed for gold standard medicine and cutting-edge research. As Assistant, Associate or Full Professor this position will be either tenure-track or clinical track based on the candidate qualifications.


Position Overview:

LIU-CVM is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for full-time positions, available on either a tenure or clinical track. Successful candidates will be involved in teaching, research, and service activities within the College. Responsibilities will include clinical and didactic instruction in small animal medicine courses and laboratories, supervision of the small animal clinical clerkship, and contributing to the Veterinary Skills courses during the first through sixth semesters of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. While no clinical duties are required, there will be opportunities for collaboration with affiliated veterinary practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and supervise small animal medicine courses, including both clinical and didactic components.
  • Oversee small animal medicine clinical clerkships for DVM students.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative educational materials and curricula.
  • Actively participate in committee service, including areas such as admissions, curriculum, and research.
  • Engage in collaborative or independent research related to small animal medicine, both within the College and through external partnerships with affiliate veterinary hospitals.
  • Promote LIU-CVM’s mission to enhance veterinary education through excellence in teaching, research, and service to various stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • DVM or equivalent degree with expertise in small animal medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM SA) or an equivalent body is required.
  • Advanced training in small animal medicine and research, such as a PhD, is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of curriculum design and implementation is ideal.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to engage effectively with students, faculty, administration, and alumni.
