Senior Accountant - Temporary

Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will support general accounting and financial processes across multiple business entities. The position requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail, ensuring that accounting principles are applied consistently and that all financial information is reported accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounting transactions in accordance with company policy and reporting requirements to support the ongoing management of the business.
- Record and report monthly point-of-sale (POS) revenue and associated transaction fees.
- Post transactions to the general ledger and ensure accurate categorization for accounting and management reporting purposes.
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly sales reports for sales tax filings; manage property tax filings for all U.S. business locations.
- Maintain and update invoice databases that track business revenue and expenses, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Reconcile and monitor bank balances to support cash flow forecasting and operational cash requirements.
- Perform month-end, quarterly, and year-end close activities, meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Prepare periodic management reports and ad hoc analyses on financial performance and accounting matters.
- Support annual and quarterly audits by preparing supporting documentation, reconciliations, and calculations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address financial inquiries and provide clarity on accounting matters.
- Maintain stewardship over the balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and financial analyses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, or in a similar accounting role.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures, including cash management, reporting, forecasting, and audit support.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Strong math and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis.
