Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant specializing in Sales and Use Tax to join the accounting team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with expertise in state and local tax compliance who is eager to contribute to a growing company. The Senior Accountant will oversee the preparation, filing, and reporting of all sales and use tax obligations, while also supporting broader accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, file, and reconcile sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor compliance with state and local tax regulations and ensure timely filings.
• Research and resolve tax discrepancies, notices, and audit inquiries.
• Maintain and update tax rate databases and exemption certificates.
• Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate tax application on sales transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes as needed.
• Provide guidance on process improvements and compliance best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (required).
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on sales and use tax.
• Solid knowledge of state and local tax laws, compliance, and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP/accounting systems; experience with tax software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
