Junior Accountant (On-Site – North Dallas, TX)


Position Overview

A well-established private investment and asset management office in Dallas is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain exposure to a sophisticated financial environment that includes multiple entities, investments, trusts, and foundations. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and eager to build a long-term career in accounting and finance.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Process accounts payable, ensuring invoices are properly reviewed, approved, and paid on a timely basis
  • Prepare cash transfers and maintain supporting documentation
  • Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and other financial records
  • Record and track fixed asset purchases, transfers, disposals, and depreciation schedules
  • Maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation for various entities
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes


Reporting & Analysis

  • Compile financial reports and accounting schedules
  • Research and trace accounting transactions to supporting documentation
  • Review financial information for completeness and accuracy
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and tax workpapers for external accountants and auditors


Administrative Support

  • Organize, scan, and electronically file accounting and financial records
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized documentation
  • Assist with special projects, ad hoc reporting, and other accounting-related assignments as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2-4 years of accounting, bookkeeping, audit, or related experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with bank reconciliations and accounts payable
  • Exposure to investment accounting, trusts, foundations, or multi-entity environments is a plus
  • Experience supporting external audits and tax preparation processes
