Registered Nurse – ICU Stepdown (Days or Nights) | Sanford, FL

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced ICU Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team in Sanford, Florida. Responsibilities:

• Collect comprehensive data and perform thorough patient assessments
• Advocate for patients as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Use sound clinical judgment to manage and prioritize patient care safely and effectively
• Monitor critical vital signs and initiate prompt intervention in life-threatening situations
• Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, and care plans
• Support patients and their families throughout hospitalization, fostering trust and understanding

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU Stepdown experience required
• Will also consider candidates with 3+ years of Cardiac PCU or Multisystem PCU experience

Education:

• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN preferred

Licensure:

• Active Florida RN license or Compact State RN license (must obtain FL license within 60 days of relocation)
• Certifications:
• NIH Stroke Scale – within 30 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – within 6 months of hire

• Days (Rotating Weekends)
• Nights (Rotating Weekends)
• Unit Details:
• Beds: 15
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 3:1 (may occasionally flex to 4:1)
• Unit Type: True stepdown unit — manages drips and long-term ventilator patients

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range:
• $31.86 – $36.12/hr (5 years’ experience)
• $40.44/hr (10 years’ experience)
• $46.28/hr (17+ years’ experience)
• Shift Differentials:
• Nights: +$4.50/hr
• Weekends: +$1.50/hr
• Sign-On Bonus:
• Days: $15,000
• Nights: $20,000
• (Sign-on bonuses available through end of Q3; subject to reevaluation thereafter)
