Lead the Financial Future of a Growing Food Manufacturing Company
Are you a hands-on financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? We’re looking for a Controller reporting to the President to oversee all accounting and financial operations while helping drive key business decisions. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both the strategic side of finance and the day-to-day accounting functions, while leading and developing a small, capable team.
The Controller will own the month-end close, cash flow forecasting, and KPI reporting, while also supporting budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making. You’ll have a direct line to the President and play a key role in shaping the company’s financial health and future growth.
What You’ll Do

Own the Month-End Close: Lead the preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Cash Flow Management: Prepare and present weekly cash flow forecasts, helping leadership make informed financial decisions.

KPI Reporting: Track and report weekly performance metrics (labor, output, quality, safety, and more) to keep the leadership team informed and aligned.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the Staff Accountant, ensuring smooth handling of accounts payable, supplier relationships, and day-to-day financial tasks.

Receivables & Payables Oversight: Oversee the collection of accounts receivable and ensure payables are processed accurately and on time.

Bank & Inventory Coordination: Work closely with banking partners to provide requested monthly reports and collaborate with the inventory and MRP teams to ensure accurate valuation and counts.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with leadership to develop annual budgets and update forecasts, helping guide the company’s growth strategy.

Deliver Results: Issue and distribute monthly financial statements to senior leadership by the 15th of each month.
What We’re Looking For

Experience: Previous experience managing month-end close and financial operations, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) required, (SOS) experience preferred, SOS is a inventory, order management, and manufacturing software within QBO.

Technical Skills: Strong Excel abilities and cost accounting experience (preferred).

Leadership Skills: Ability to manage, train, and develop accounting staff while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Detail-Oriented & Proactive: Comfortable juggling multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial matters.
