Scope of Position


The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for managing all sanitation activities on the assigned shift, ensuring the facility meets the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This role provides leadership to sanitation personnel, oversees adherence to SSOPs, GMPs, and the master sanitation schedule, and ensures that all cleaning processes support product quality and operational efficiency.


The Sanitation Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining a safe work environment, developing sanitation staff, and supporting the Company’s commitment to producing safe, high-quality food products.


Responsibilities


  • Manage all aspects of the sanitation shift, ensuring efficient and effective cleaning operations.
  • Lead and supervise plant personnel, ensuring consistent adherence to sanitation procedures and Company standards.
  • Follow and uphold all facility safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and all applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Conducting performance evaluations
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Addressing complaints and resolving issues
  • Maintain a strong focus on food quality and food safety through strict adherence to Company SSOPs, GMPs, and the master sanitation schedule.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of chemical usage, titration procedures, and chemical safety requirements.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of goals, yields, variances, and related operational calculations.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree; or two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four to five years of progressive experience working with industrial food manufacturing equipment and chemical sanitation processes.


Skills & Knowledge


  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers, desktop applications, and business systems.
  • Strong basic math skills (high school equivalency).
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and relevant federal and state safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with food processing, HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation practices preferred.
