Scope of Position
We seek an experienced Plant Human Resources Manager to lead and execute all HR functions at our manufacturing facility. This individual will be a key partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team, driving workforce strategies supporting business goals. This role is responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, payroll, safety, and organizational development initiatives at the plant level.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Plant Leadership to align staffing plans with operational needs, leading recruitment, selection, and employee retention efforts.
- Administer weekly payroll processing and enforce attendance policies.
- Interpret and ensure consistent application of HR policies, employment laws, benefit plans, and internal procedures.
- Oversee all employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Lead onboarding initiatives and foster a culture of engagement from day one.
- Design and facilitate training programs to support employee development, safety, and compliance.
- Coordinate safety initiatives and act as Plant Safety Coordinator, managing training, documentation, and first aid programs.
- Maintain accurate HR data and reports, including headcount, turnover, performance, and training metrics.
- Collaborate with Corporate EH&S on workers’ compensation case management, including investigations and documentation.
- Manage relationships with temporary staffing agencies, including scheduling, payroll records, and issue resolution.
- Support culture-building initiatives, including employee recognition events and communication programs.
- Represent the company during HR-related audits, investigations, or hearings.
- Take on additional HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).
- Proven ability to manage payroll, safety programs, and employee relations in a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Preferred Skills
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
- Experience with workforce planning and change management in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with lean or continuous improvement environments.
