Scope of Position


Our Client is seeking a results-driven Plant Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. This role provides leadership across all plant functions, including safety, quality, production, packaging, maintenance, supply chain, purchasing, and environmental compliance.


The Plant Manager is responsible for executing site-specific strategic plans, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and cost-effectively, and delivering strong operational and financial results. This leader will foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while developing high-performing teams.


Responsibilities


Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure production demands are met while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.
  • Lead plant operations, including production, packaging, maintenance, supply chain, purchasing, and environmental functions.
  • Ensure products are manufactured and shipped on schedule to meet customer expectations and company standards.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all operational areas.

Financial & Strategic Management

  • Manage plant operating expenses, including labor, overhead, and shrinkage, using continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop and manage the annual plant operating budget aligned with sales forecasts and inventory plans.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the plant capital budget and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure timely and accurate month-end financial closing processes.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all safety regulations.
  • Partner with Quality to support food security and food safety programs across the manufacturing process.
  • Lead all corporate, customer, and regulatory audits to ensure operational and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure plant operations comply with environmental regulations and standards.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing plant leadership team.
  • Manage staffing, performance evaluations, employee development, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support succession planning and development for plant leadership and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with other plant leaders across the organization to share best practices and improve operational performance.


Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field.

Experience

  • 5–7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, maintenance, engineering, or process improvement roles.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment is required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies such as EPA, FDA, and OSHA.

  • Strong budgeting and cost management experience
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and safety standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
