Scope of Position
Our client is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead operations within our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing production teams, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met, and supporting a fast-paced production environment.
Reporting to the Shift Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will lead daily production activities, coach and develop employees, and drive continuous improvement across processing and downstream operations.

Responsibilities
Lead Production Operations
- Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency targets are met
- Conduct daily production meetings and coordinate shift priorities
- Manage product changeovers, start-ups, shutdowns, and line setups
- Ensure production lines operate efficiently with minimal downtime
Ensure Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe working environment and promote a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and quality standards
- Support internal and external audits including SQF, GMP certifications, and customer audits
- Maintain accurate production, batch, and productivity records
Drive Operational Performance
- Track productivity metrics and line efficiency
- Maintain and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Identify opportunities to improve production methods, equipment, and workflows
- Lead initiatives focused on cost control, efficiency improvements, and downtime reduction
Lead and Develop the Team
- Supervise and develop production personnel and line leads
- Ensure employees are properly trained and competent in their roles
- Mentor and coach employees to improve performance and engagement
- Foster a collaborative, team-focused production environment
Partner Cross-Functionally
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Safety teams to ensure smooth operations
- Support the implementation of safety training programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work with operations and technical teams to ensure product specifications and formulations are met
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or managerial discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, safety practices, sanitation, and quality systems
- Experience working with KPIs, performance metrics, and production efficiency tracking
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic operational software systems
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, RCA, etc.)
- Knowledge of 5S manufacturing principles
- Experience supporting quality or customer audits
