Scope of Position


Our client seeks a hands-on Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead our maintenance and engineering programs across the facility. This role is pivotal in driving equipment reliability, optimizing plant performance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives that connect maintenance, engineering, and operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a technical problem-solver, ensuring that all systems, machinery, and infrastructure support our high safety, quality, and efficiency standards.


Responsibilities


  • Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing maintenance and engineering team.
  • Oversee and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all food production and packaging equipment.
  • Utilize CMMS to plan, schedule, and track maintenance tasks and ensure full compliance with food safety and operational standards.
  • Drive equipment reliability by identifying root causes of downtime and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and supplies to ensure timely availability and cost control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals, infrastructure maintenance, and long-term capital improvement planning.
  • Develop and administer preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
  • Lead capital projects and plant improvement initiatives aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with facility safety standards, fire prevention systems, insurance requirements, and local building codes.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, repetitive failures, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Update and optimize PM procedures and documentation based on data analysis and root cause investigations.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance and engineering within a manufacturing or packaging environment, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Proven experience leading preventive maintenance programs and capital projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with CMMS software preferred.
